The auDA Foundation is pleased to open its 2023 community grant round. A total of $600,000 in funding will support 15 new education, research and community-based projects that enhance the utility of the internet.

As part of auDA’s Public Benefit Program, the 2023 community grant round will offer grants of $40,000 for projects that enhance digital inclusion and digital innovation for one of the following groups:

  1. Rural, regional and remote Australians

  2. Australians living with disability

  3. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples

  4. Older Australians (65 years+)

  5. Young Australians (12-24 years).

Since 2006, the auDA Foundation has distributed grant contributions of more than $4 million, supporting over 150 projects. In 2022, these included a research project to improve healthcare in Aboriginal communities, development of online resources for rural, regional, remote and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander primary school students, and a telehealth home monitoring trial to help preserve vision for glaucoma patients.

auDA Public Benefit Program Committee Chair Sandra Davey said “It makes all of us at auDA really happy to launch this year’s Foundation grant round which will support community-led improvements to the internet for Australians. Projects supported by the Foundation make a meaningful, positive impact to Australia and we’re looking forward to receiving this year’s applications.”

auDA CEO Rosemary Sinclair AM said: “auDA is proud to continue to support the auDA Foundation. Its community grant program delivers economic and social value for the community by delivering innovations in how Australians access and use the internet.”

Applications for the 2023 community grant round are now open and close at 11.59pm AEDT Monday 2 October 2023.
