A short history of the awards
The Australian Web Awards showcase outstanding work by Australian web designers and developers.
The Australian Web Awards archive is the place to go to see past finalists, award-winning entries and innovative digital projects.

Do you work in digital? You won’t want to miss the Edge of the Web. Held in conjunction with the Australian Web Awards, this one day conference is designed to profile amazing work, explore current trends and create opportunities to connect and expand your network.
Here’s how it works
The Australian Web Awards moves through three phases every year, which are:
- Entries are invited for a period of time (typically one month) in February of the award year
- When entries close, judging commences, and will run for upwards of a month, during March
- And lastly, finalists are announced in April to coincide with the release of information for our annual Edge of the Web conference, held the day before the Awards Gala event.
Once you’ve submitted your entry, it needs to pass through two stages:
An initial check to make sure entries meet the awards guidelines, then a second stage of rigourous judging.
